About The Position

Weston Livestock Market is seeking four Farmworker/Laborers for a seasonal position from February 15, 2025, to December 15, 2025, in Lewis County, West Virginia. The role involves operating large farm equipment, maintaining farm vehicles, performing pasture maintenance, and attending to livestock. The position requires physical labor and adherence to safety protocols, including a strict no-drug policy. Workers will be provided with housing and kitchen facilities, and transportation to grocery stores will be available weekly.

Requirements

  • Three months of recent and verifiable experience in farm work.
  • Ability to obtain a non-CDL driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, or walking.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with operating specific farm machinery and tools.
  • Knowledge of livestock care and management.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large farm equipment and machinery such as tractors, swathers, and balers.
  • Clean, repair, and maintain farm vehicles and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform pasture maintenance and weed management.
  • Load agricultural products into trucks and drive to market or storage facilities.
  • Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping.
  • Regulate conditions and maintain inventory.
  • Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice.
  • Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures.
  • Build agricultural structures as needed.
  • Attend to live farm animals, including cattle, by moving them between pastures for rotational grazing and treating sick cattle.
