About the position
The Farmworker position in Fremont County, ID, involves a variety of tasks related to the production of crops and livestock. The role is essential for maintaining farm operations, including irrigation, crop production, and livestock care, from January 15, 2025, to November 14, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Perform general farm work including tilling soil, planting, cultivating, fertilizing, and harvesting crops.
- Drive, load, and unload farm trucks and Ag exempt, non-CDL 10-wheel trucks.
- Operate farm implements, tractors, and equipment for various farming tasks.
- Make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farm machinery.
- Mix and/or spray chemicals according to laws and regulations.
- Maintain and repair farm structures and fencing.
- Transport crops from the field to storage or market.
- Perform irrigation duties including connecting pipes and adjusting for proper water distribution.
- Check and care for livestock, including administering medications and feeding.
- Maintain records on livestock and assist in their care.
Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry pipe sections weighing approximately 40 pounds on a sustained basis.
- Experience in operating farm machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of irrigation techniques and crop production practices.
- Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
