About the position

The position involves working as a Farmworker and Laborer in crop, nursery, and greenhouse settings. The role includes various horticultural activities such as soil preparation, planting, maintenance of plants, and general farm upkeep. Workers will be engaged in both primary and alternative farming tasks, depending on weather and crop conditions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare soil and growth media for planting.
• Cultivate and participate in horticulture activities.
• Haul and spread topsoil and fertilizer to condition land.
• Dig, rake, and screen soil for planting.
• Plant, spray, weed, and water plants, shrubs, and trees.
• Tie, bunch, wrap, and pack flowers, plants, and shrubs for orders.
• Load trucks for marketing of products.
• Transplant seedlings into selling containers on the potting line.
• Assist in the delivery of products to customers.
• Perform maintenance on farm equipment as required.
• Assist in the setup of products for sale of crops.
• Engage in general farm maintenance and other duties as required.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Experience in horticulture or farming activities is preferred.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including rain and extreme temperatures.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a nursery or greenhouse setting.
• Knowledge of plant care and maintenance techniques.
