About The Position

The Fashion News Editor at Elle is responsible for creating engaging, trend-driven fashion content across various platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of the fashion industry, the ability to write compelling articles, and the skill to cover live events with authority. The editor will also collaborate with other teams to enhance the brand's digital presence and ensure that the style coverage is both authoritative and elevated.

Requirements

• 5-6 years of post-grad experience editing and/or writing for a digital consumer publication, with a particular emphasis on fashion content.
• Strong voice and presence on social media in the fashion and culture space.
• Creative ideator, passionate about developing 360-degree franchises and programs (digital, print, social, experiential) around fashion.
• Willingness to travel to cover fashion events and launches.
• Knowledgeable about SEO best practices and able to utilize Google Analytics or other tools.
• Deep knowledge of fashion, fashion trends, and the industry, with meaningful relationships in the fashion world.
• Confident writing for digital and social media in the Elle voice.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Pitch and produce daily digital posts, as well as edit digital posts by in-house writers and freelancers.
• Cover live fashion events with authority, including runway shows and brand events.
• Write fashion articles; interview experts and make market selections.
• Create social media content (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to bring our content to life beyond print and the website.
• Work with our ecommerce lead on newsletters, social media packages, etc., as needed.

Benefits

• Base salary between $67,000 and $77,000, dependent on various factors.
• Position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
