The Fast and Fresh Clerk at Hy-Vee is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service in the Fast and Fresh department. This role involves operating the cash register, ensuring store cleanliness, managing product quality and supply needs, and enhancing the overall shopping experience for customers. The position requires a commitment to teamwork and customer satisfaction, with a focus on maintaining a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
- Operates cash register accurately and scans products.
- Ensures cleanliness of the store and quality of products.
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, loading/unloading heavy items, and addressing customer suggestions or requests.
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service to callers.
- Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Receives and checks in delivered merchandise and places it in appropriate storage areas.
- Fills displays and stocks shelves as needed.
- Maintains proper maintenance of the lot, including snow removal and trash disposal.
- Cleans work areas, including registers, restrooms, and break rooms, ensuring proper sanitation procedures are followed.
Requirements
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; and provide basic direction.
