About the position

The Fast and Fresh Clerk at Hy-Vee is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the store. This part-time role involves operating the cash register, assisting customers with their needs, and maintaining the quality and quantity of products in the Fast and Fresh department.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
• Operates cash register accurately and scans products, ensuring proper cash levels in the drawer.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, loading/unloading heavy items, and addressing customer suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Receives and checks in delivered merchandise and places it in the appropriate storage area.
• Fills displays and stocks shelves, ensuring proper maintenance of the lot and cleanliness of the store.
• Cleans various areas of the store, including registers, restrooms, and break rooms, while adhering to sanitation procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables and limited standardization.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; and provide basic direction.
