About the position
The Fast Reaction Associate at DICK'S Sporting Goods plays a vital role in market research and trend analysis within the sporting goods industry. This position focuses on identifying consumer shifts, evaluating competition, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product selection and merchandising strategies. The associate will contribute to the overall business strategy by providing insights and reports that inform buying decisions.
Responsibilities
- Complete market research for their subcategory and assess trending brands and retailers to identify innovation, consumer shifts, and market direction.
- Explore social media to identify sports trends, teams, and players and report findings to the Buyer.
- Shop DSG stores and other comparative retail stores to identify new trends and opportunities, evaluate merchandise mix, and assess competition.
- Translate findings to the Fast Reaction Buyer to inform product selection.
- Build strategic relationships with cross-functional partners and Directors to discuss overall business and recent trends.
- Partner with the Buyer to manage product selection and trending brands.
- Create reports to assist in managing the business and ensure accuracy of merchandising reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, merchandising, or a business-related field.
- 3-5 years of previous experience as an Assistant Buyer preferred.
