About the position
The Fast Reaction Manager at DICK'S Sporting Goods is responsible for conducting comprehensive market research to assess trends within the licensed business. This role involves collaborating with buying teams to inform decision-making about sports trends and ensuring alignment with athlete and product categories. The position also includes evaluating merchandise mix and competition, as well as overseeing team development and hiring processes.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive in market research to assess macro level trends within the licensed business.
- Shop trending brands and retailers to identify innovation, consumer shifts, and market direction.
- Inform decision making about daily sports trends in collaboration with the Buying teams through presentation of findings.
- Act as the subject matter expert in sports trends through research.
- Share expertise with buying partners to ensure direction aligns to the athlete and product categories.
- Shop DSG stores and other comparative retail stores to identify new trends and opportunities.
- Evaluate merchandise mix and competition, translating findings into executable product plans.
- Work closely with team members to ensure appropriate development opportunities, including feedback and performance management.
- Interview candidates and make hiring decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, merchandising, or a business-related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Experience in a leadership/management role.
