About the position

As a Senior Staff Data Architect at Lockheed Martin Space, you will play a crucial role in the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program, which supports the Navy's strategic defense mission. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and integrating data architectures that align with enterprise goals, ensuring data governance, and collaborating with customers and partners to define data solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative technologies that enhance national security while being part of a dynamic team in a leading aerospace company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all developed data structures are consistent with the enterprise vision, mission, and roadmaps.
  • Develop data architectures that integrate with the overall Space Enterprise Architecture and Domain-specific Architectures.
  • Guide Customer and Industry Partner vision for a parent level data architecture.
  • Document, model, and publish architectures per methods and standards of the Space Data Architecture Team.
  • Integrate, implement, and operationalize architectures as required.
  • Capture and understand current-state architectures and detail data, reporting, and analytics needs.
  • Collaborate with customers/partners and IT to define the solution space and establish data boundaries.
  • Work alongside Solution and System Architects to ensure data standards & governance is met.
  • Develop future-state conceptual architectures that are secure, scalable, and supportable.

Requirements

  • Broad experience across IT technical subject areas including data, analytics, and cyber.
  • Experience designing and architecting data solutions across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Significant experience working as a Systems Engineer and deploying analytics solutions across cloud platforms.
  • Experience in creating data architectures, data governance, and data quality plans.
  • Experience defining data architecture interfaces, specifications, and requirements.
  • Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler or similar modeling software.
  • Significant exposure to cyber threats and mitigation techniques.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.

Nice-to-haves

  • 14+ years of professional experience, with Data Architecture experience.
  • Experience with data, databases, data schemas, and data services.
  • Basic understanding of No Magic Cameo Systems Modeler or similar software.
  • CSSP, Security+ or other Cyber Credentials.
  • Thorough understanding of security principles and their application to IT components.
  • Experience with Big Data software.
  • Experience in applying data access policies in classified environments.
  • Experience presenting at reviews with Customers and/or Senior Stakeholders.
  • Experience on Agile teams as an architecture stakeholder.
  • Understanding of business and engineering activities in DoD/Aerospace.
