The Senior Clerk (Duty Warden) position at Madison Correctional Institution involves providing advanced secretarial and administrative support within the Major's Office. The role includes managing the formal grievance process, preparing official correspondence, and performing general office duties. This position is essential for maintaining efficient office operations and supporting the Institutional Inspector and Sergeant.

Responsibilities

• Assists with all aspects of the formal grievance process, including assigning grievance numbers and classifying them.
• Types responses to grievances, obtains necessary signatures, and distributes them within the required time limits.
• Maintains a log of all formal grievances.
• Provides advanced secretarial services, including preparation of official correspondence and departmental documentation.
• Takes and transcribes minutes of various meetings and types daily correspondence.
• Maintains appropriate files and records, acting as the office receptionist.
• Receives and distributes mail and orders office supplies.
• Inputs various monthly reports.
• Performs general office duties for the Institutional Inspector and Sergeant as needed.
• Acts as a Staff Assistant in the absence of the designated staff.

Requirements
