About the position

Stadium is seeking a highly professional and creative Feature Editor to join our team, focusing on the creation of industry-leading OTA & OTT video programs that cover both college and professional sports. This role is pivotal in producing engaging content for distribution across various digital platforms, including mobile devices and tablets. The Feature Editor will work closely under the guidance of the Creative Director and collaborate with designated Feature Editors to ensure that all video pieces align with editorial goals and timelines, while also appealing to fans and serving advertisers. The position is integral to attracting new viewers and enhancing the overall viewer experience. As a Feature Editor, you will be responsible for creating professional, network-quality highlights, long-form features, and short-form video programs intended for both broadcast and digital distribution. This includes coordinating with production teams for on-location and remote shoots, and taking on a producer role for various packages and interviews. You will extract video from multiple sources, including footage captured on Sony HD cam, XD cam, DVC pro hardware, and other devices, as well as through DVRs and online resources. A strong command of AVID and Premiere editing software is essential, along with a mid-level proficiency in After Effects and Photoshop for creating necessary packaging elements for broadcast and multimedia projects. In addition to video editing, you will facilitate the approval process, manage the organization of assigned projects and related media assets, and ensure the quality control of final outputs. The role requires a keen ability to handle sound design and audio mixing, as well as color correction when necessary. You will also be expected to demonstrate leadership by managing projects and assisting the Creative Director and other Feature Editors in guiding the edit team when required. Responsibilities

  • Creating professional, network-quality highlights, long-form features, and short-form video programs for both broadcast and digital distribution.
  • Coordinating with production on location/remote shoots and taking on a producer role for packages and interviews.
  • Extracting video from various sources including Sony HD cam, XD cam, DVC pro hardware, and other devices; through DVRs and online resources.
  • Demonstrating expert competency in AVID and Premiere editing software, with knowledge of Avid Interplay and Airspeed systems required.
  • Utilizing After Effects and Photoshop for required packaging elements for broadcast and multimedia projects.
  • Facilitating the approval process, including master compressions, quality control of final output, and delivery of digital masters.
  • Managing the organization of assigned projects and related media assets, including video storage, backup, and archiving.
  • Handling sound design and audio mixing, as well as color correction as required.
  • Managing projects and demonstrating leadership, assisting the Creative Director and other Feature Editors in guiding the edit team.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with AVID Media Composer and Adobe Premiere.
  • Beginner-level proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Previous video editing experience in sports or a similar field.
  • Knowledge of location and studio production practices.
  • Familiarity with photography and video equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, excelling under deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and empowered to work unsupervised.
  • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and some holidays.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (editing, production, design, etc.).
