About the position
We are seeking a highly motivated FedEx DOT Delivery Driver for a full-time position in Cypress, TX. The ideal candidate will enjoy delivering packages and interacting with customers, demonstrating reliability, independence, and flexibility. This role requires hard workers who pay attention to detail and can quickly problem-solve a wide range of situations in a fast-paced environment. Successful delivery drivers will prioritize safety, care deeply about customer expectations, and ensure satisfaction with every delivery. Candidates must be enthusiastic, communicate effectively, and be ready to get the job done. The position involves driving company vehicles ranging from 14' to 18', performing safety inspections, and adhering to all local and state laws, road regulations, and company policies. Drivers will be responsible for loading and unloading packages, maintaining a clean driving record, and providing excellent customer service even in stressful conditions. This physically demanding job requires the ability to lift packages up to 150 lbs and work in various weather conditions. Communication with the support team is essential to ensure timely and successful deliveries. The use of a smartphone for GPS navigation and administrative tasks is also required, although the company does not provide the device.
Responsibilities
- Successfully handle and deliver packages on time.
- Safely drive and perform safety inspections on company vehicle; follow all local & state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service and satisfaction despite stressful events/conditions.
- Keep pace in a physically demanding job; work in all weather conditions; lift packages (up to 150 lbs); get in and out of a van repeatedly throughout the day at variable locations.
- Communicate effectively with support team to provide exceptional customer service and ensure deliveries are completed.
- Use smartphone device for GPS Navigation, scanning packages, conducting administrative requirements such as clocking in/out, and communicating with supervisors and other team members.
- Load and unload packages in delivery vehicle.
- Support the team in daily work requirements including participation in rescue calls when other team members need assistance with their routes.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License and Social Security Card.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass a 5-Panel Drug Screening and DOT physical.
- Must have a clean motor vehicle driving record.
- Must have good English speaking, reading, writing/communication skills.
- Must have at least 1 year driving experience within the last 3 years.
