About the position

The Onboarding Strategy Senior Specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston plays a pivotal role in defining and executing a scalable onboarding strategy for the FedNow Service, a next-generation payment platform. This position is integral to the transformation of Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) into a national, enterprise-focused organization that aims to enhance the customer experience and meet the evolving needs of the marketplace. The specialist will be responsible for creating efficient and seamless onboarding processes for thousands of financial institutions, payment processors, and aggregators, ensuring they can effectively integrate and utilize the FedNow Service. The role requires direct engagement with various stakeholders, including financial institutions, service providers, and vendors, to facilitate the adoption of the FedNow Service. The specialist will document product development requirements based on client interactions and contribute to the product roadmap, ensuring that the service evolves to meet client needs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to develop solutions that enhance the customer experience, and the specialist will also provide onboarding assistance to clients, ensuring operational readiness across assigned customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a mission-critical initiative that is transforming the payments landscape in the United States. The ideal candidate will develop subject matter expertise in the FedNow Service, focusing on integration, onboarding, and enablement, while supporting the Industry Readiness Lead to ensure industry readiness when the service goes live and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a scalable onboarding strategy for the FedNow Service.
  • Develop efficient and seamless onboarding processes for financial institutions and payment processors.
  • Engage directly with financial institutions, service providers, and vendors to promote adoption of the FedNow Service.
  • Document product development and operational support requirements based on client discussions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions for a superior customer experience.
  • Provide onboarding assistance to clients and ensure operational readiness across assigned customers.
  • Work with onboarding vendors and systems integrators to ensure successful implementation of the service.

Requirements

  • Experience in end-to-end onboarding journey design and product implementation.
  • Track record of successful delivery and implementation across large-scale payment initiatives.
  • Strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams effectively.
  • Banking and payments experience, particularly with ACH, FED, or CHIPS processing.
  • Expertise in ISO20022 message standards and payment fraud monitoring is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with industry partners on product or process implementations.
  • Experience with developing and executing pilot programs is preferred.

  • MBA preferred with at least 3 years in financial services, payments, or technology.
