The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join the FedNow team, which is at the forefront of transforming the payments landscape in the United States. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a mission-critical initiative that enables financial institutions to provide their customers with the ability to send and receive payments 24/7, with immediate access to funds. The FedNow Service is a new interbank real-time gross settlement (RTGS) service that integrates clearing functionality, and the SRE will play a vital role in ensuring its reliability and performance. As a Senior Engineer within the SRE/Production Operations team, you will be responsible for operating the production environment for the FedNow program. This includes architecting, implementing, and leveraging monitoring solutions for capacity planning and utilization reporting. You will work with both open-source and proprietary software to support Engineering, DevOps, and DevSecOps tools and services. Your role will also involve designing and developing CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipeline automation, ensuring resiliency, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity planning (BCP), including testing. The SRE/Production Operations team is part of the Technical Operations (TechOps) department, which oversees the design, management, and execution of operations required to support the FedNow Program's ongoing technical and delivery needs. You will interface with internal stakeholders and customers for planning, delivery, and service management, while also owning ITIL processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration with Engineers and Architects of the FedNow program will be essential to maintain seamless automation across the platform.
