About the position

The FedNow Senior Software Engineer plays a critical role in the development and implementation of the FedNow Service, a new interbank real-time gross settlement service. This position involves designing, coding, testing, and debugging software solutions while providing technical leadership on complex projects. The engineer will work in a collaborative Agile environment, ensuring high-quality software development and compliance with Fed policies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex software solutions in accordance with FedNow and Fed Standards.
• Develop software solutions for both front-end and back-end in Cloud environments.
• Create end-to-end Infrastructure-as-Code solutions in Cloud.
• Provide input into strategic and tactical planning of software solutions and software development lifecycle changes.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of technology.
• Train and consult cross-functionally on troubleshooting and resolving complex problems.
• Collaborate with analysts to define user requirements and conduct design reviews for cloud applications.
• Ensure the quality of software developed and compliance with Fed policies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of Java Development experience.
• 3+ years working with AWS cloud-based platforms in an enterprise environment.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in a team-based environment.
• Experience with building and deploying solutions in Cloud.
• Experience with Serverless architecture for building software solutions in Cloud.
• Experience with CI/CD build tools and DevOps processes.
• Experience developing high performance, high volume, highly available environments.
