About the position

The Federal Account PreSales Hardware Architect - HPC/AI role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is designed for a technical consultant who will primarily work onsite. This position focuses on configuring hardware clusters for high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads, supporting government accounts while ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The role involves translating customer needs into technical solutions, mentoring peers, and actively participating in the sales process to drive business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Configure hardware clusters for HPC & AI workloads using knowledge of Infiniband and Ethernet networking.
  • Translate functional views into technical views and architect complex solutions that can scale with growth.
  • Articulate the value proposition and define key differentiators in deep-dive discussions.
  • Draft high-level solution designs by mapping HPE technologies to customer challenges.
  • Counter competitive claims with the benefits of HPE's solutions and innovations.
  • Monitor the account pipeline and nurture active deals from opportunity to close.
  • Identify new opportunities within the account to build the pipeline.
  • Design end-to-end architecture for solutions aligned to customer needs within scope and budget.
  • Mentor presales peers, account managers, and partners on technological knowledge.
  • Track industry developments by attending conferences and monitoring social media.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or from a technical university.
  • 5+ years of experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC) / AI with a focus on technical consulting and infrastructure/hardware solution selling.
  • Deep technical understanding of infrastructure and networking solutions.
  • Prior experience working with Federal Projects and knowledge of federal systems and processes.
  • Good knowledge of the HPE hardware product portfolio and current trends.
  • Solid network configuration skills and project management experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated consultative selling techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Security Clearance is a plus.
  • Experience participating in solution configurations and overall architecture design.
  • Creation of Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to meet customer requirements.
