We are looking for a Federal Business Development Leader for the US Navy in the Eastern US. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of business development plans, capture management, and sales to the US Federal Government for the US Navy. This position can be based out of any of our GHD locations within the US or can be remote. In an ever-changing world, it requires creativity and innovation to stay ahead. Your responsibilities will include driving the growth and client goals and objectives in the US Federal Client Sector Plan with a primary focus on the Eastern US. You will lead business development, client engagement, client service management, and strategic marketing. Developing and maintaining high-value relationships with Federal clients will be crucial, as well as growing market share by partnering with other large and small business partners for Federal captures. You will implement short and long-term strategies that contribute to growth and profitability, actively participate in professional and/or industrial organizations to promote the GHD brand, and develop new project opportunities while promoting technical service diversification and new growth initiatives for GHD with existing clients. You will also expand and maintain the current client base aligned with Region or Sector plans, set up and lead initial meetings and presentations for potential and current clients, ensure the Opportunity Pipeline is accurate and updated, conduct Go/No reviews as best practice, critically review and approve key proposals submitted to clients, and represent and promote GHD at networking events, professional and industrial associations, society meetings, conferences, and tradeshows.

Responsibilities

  • Sets-up and leads initial meetings and presentations for potential and current clients.
  • Ensures Opportunity Pipeline is accurate and updated.
  • Conducts Go/No reviews as the best practice.
  • Critically reviews and approves key proposals submitted to clients, ensuring signing authorities are enforced.
  • Represents and promotes GHD at networking events, professional and industrial associations, society meetings, conferences, and tradeshows.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in the Sector in a client development/account management role with US Federal Government.
  • Bachelor and/or Master's degree from an accredited school in an engineering or related technical field (civil, structural, electrical or mechanical) including architecture.
  • MBA is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or Registered Architect (RA) License is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational and presentation skills.
  • Able and willing to travel to client offices as needed.

  • Experience in strategic marketing and client service management.
  • Membership in professional and/or industrial organizations.
