About the position

The Federal Construction Sales - Low/Medium Voltage Switchgear position at Siemens involves selling power distribution products to federal and defense contractors in the Southeastern market. The role emphasizes building relationships, managing sales strategies, and providing product support while ensuring compliance with U.S. Government procurement processes. This position is remote/hybrid, allowing for flexibility in work location while focusing on federal projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and support general and electrical contractors within the sales area for federal and defense projects.
  • Engage in business development activities to build relationships with targeted contractors.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of business strategies and maintain an opportunity pipeline for federal/defense projects.
  • Provide product support for various power distribution products including Panelboards, Switchboards, and Low Voltage Switchgear.
  • Utilize knowledge of U.S. Government procurement processes to prepare proposals for Federal customers.
  • Engage continuously throughout the project life cycle to ensure successful implementation of objectives.
  • Stay current on industry technology and federal market trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is strongly desired; a combination of education and related work experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of sales experience or 10+ years of sales experience in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience with LV/MV power distribution product line or 10+ years of experience in the same area.
  • 5+ years of experience with the federal contract and procurement process or 10+ years of experience in this area.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in selling to general and electrical contractors in the federal market space is highly desirable.
