About the position

The Federal Deployment Manager at Palo Alto Networks plays a crucial role in supporting the National Security Division by deploying Internet Landscape Intelligence (ILI) capabilities to public sector customers, including the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, customer engagement, and the ability to navigate complex bureaucratic environments to ensure successful implementation and adoption of cybersecurity solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support public sector customers in leveraging ILI data for cyber operations.
  • Assist technical and non-technical users in assessing vulnerabilities using the Cortex product suite.
  • Communicate concisely and accurately with various customer personas.
  • Identify new user groups based on customer environment observations.
  • Propose potential feature enhancements to the product team.
  • Troubleshoot bugs with the engineering team to facilitate fixes.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Cyber Research Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in technical client delivery and engagement or technical intelligence analysis.
  • Understanding of the cyber threat landscape, including attack tools, tactics, and techniques as outlined in the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  • High-level understanding of computer networks, protocols, and Internet functionality.
  • Broad knowledge of nation-state linked Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups.
  • Knowledge of federal organizations and their functions, including organizational structures and software product use cases.
  • Ability to analyze challenges towards clearly articulated end goals, such as optimizing product adoption.
  • Strong oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technical content.
  • Proven ability to decompose problems into manageable components.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, or related field; or relevant experience.
  • Advanced understanding of operational cyber exercises and missions.
  • Experience supporting national-level cyber response missions.
  • Understanding of and experience in cyber threat hunt activities or full spectrum cyber operations.
  • Ability to support customer analytical Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Local to the Washington DC market.
