About the position

The Federal Enterprise Data Architect role at Deloitte involves working closely with clients to architect, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouse components. This position is crucial for helping clients leverage data analytics and cognitive technologies to solve complex problems in the Government and Public Services marketplace. The role requires a strong background in data architecture and a commitment to developing technical skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop enterprise data warehouse components, including data marts, operational data stores, staging, and archival databases.
  • Build star schemas, Type I and Type II dimensions, and facts to dimensions matrices for large enterprise data warehousing and Business Intelligence (BI) projects.
  • Work directly with client/business owners to gather and develop architecture requirements.
  • Support data warehouse concepts and relational databases.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and testing for systems engineering, data validation, and development projects.
  • Further develop technical skills through working groups and trainings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience architecting, designing, and developing enterprise data warehouse components, including data marts, operational data stores, staging, and archival databases.
  • 5+ years of experience building star schemas, Type I and Type II dimensions, facts to dimensions matrices, and working with large enterprise data warehousing, reporting, and Business Intelligence (BI) projects.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance or higher required.
  • Ability to work on-site in Washington DC metro area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience with the Intelligence Community.
  • Keen interest in learning and using the latest software tools, methods, and technologies to solve real world problem sets vital to national security.
  • Experience in understanding business intelligence systems ETL development, and warehouse/relational database concepts, including industry best practices.
  • Experience conducting demonstrations and briefings with clients to show incremental progress.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with emphasis on complex technical topics and effectively communicating details with all levels of management.
