About the position

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator to manage and optimize HPC systems, providing technical leadership and support for mission-critical customers. This remote position requires a TS/SCI clearance with Poly and involves daily monitoring, system management, and customer enablement of HPE's computing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system management, daily monitoring, and optimization of Linux systems.
  • Interact with the Service Delivery Manager, Sales, customers, and site staff as part of the HPE account team.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding system software versions, product lifecycles, and third-party applications.
  • Maintain Linux system availability and document site procedures and system diagrams.
  • Manage system software and firmware revisions, including patches and updates.
  • Resolve system hardware, software, and third-party software issues, providing detailed analysis.
  • Gather data, perform analysis, and escalate problems to higher-level support groups when necessary.
  • Implement solutions and document troubleshooting techniques and processes.
  • Manage software issues for system and user applications, submitting and tracking bugs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area of study or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of HPC-related experience, ideally with large-scale HPC and parallel file system administration.
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems (RHEL or SLES), workload management systems, and networking/security.
  • Direct experience with multiple programming and scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, C).
  • Ability to maintain system software and utilize debugging tools for problem isolation.
