About the position

The Federal Project Manager will oversee and manage federal projects from the San Diego office, ensuring compliance with federal standards and effective communication with clients. The role requires a strong technical background and experience in managing complex federal projects, with a focus on project planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of federal projects, ensuring alignment with client goals, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, budgets, schedules, and critical milestones.
  • Manage project KPIs, including budget adherence, scheduling, scope control, and overall project quality.
  • Manage projects involving Cisco and Aruba networking equipment, cybersecurity solutions, and related installations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for federal clients, ensuring effective communication throughout the project duration.
  • Coordinate on-site project activities, managing travel primarily within Southern California.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with ISO 9001 and NIST frameworks, maintaining alignment with federal security regulations.
  • Track project progress against established KPIs for budgets, schedules, and scope management.
  • Utilize Excel and Microsoft Project for budget management, scheduling, and task tracking.
  • Assess eligibility for remote work after a 6-month period based on performance and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • 5-8 years of recent experience managing federal projects.
  • Proficiency in Cisco and Aruba networking, Aruba ClearPass, Cisco ISE, Fortinet, and Cisco ASA.
  • Strong skills in project budgeting, scheduling, scope management, and risk mitigation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and NIST frameworks, with a solid understanding of federal compliance standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
  • Experience with ProCore project management platform.
