As a member of the Sales Engineering team, you will report to the Regional Engineering Manager and collaborate with skilled field engineers. The role involves understanding technology and its business impact, aligning solutions with client goals, and steering product developments in collaboration with Product Management and Software Development teams. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing pre-sales technical systems engineering support for Federal customers, including the Department of Defense and various civilian agencies. Your responsibilities will include conducting architectural reviews, presenting Arista's networking solutions, and designing network architectures using leaf-spine architectures and network overlays. You will also perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups, provide design guidelines, and respond to RFP/RFQs. Additionally, you will represent Arista at industry events, keep up-to-date on competitive solutions, and author white papers on technology and products. This role is critical in ensuring that Arista's offerings meet the needs of its customers and contribute to the company's success in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor providing pre-sales technical systems engineering support for Federal customers.
  • Partner with Federal Account Managers to understand customer pain points and conduct network architectural reviews.
  • Conduct product presentations of Arista's networking solutions, including CloudVision and Security solutions.
  • Architect, design, and propose Data Center & Campus network solutions using leaf-spine architectures and network overlays.
  • Perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups and network designs.
  • Put together design guidelines and recommend improvements to customer networks.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to respond to RFP/RFQs.
  • Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams.
  • Represent Arista at SDN and Open Networking industry events and conferences.
  • Keep up-to-date on competitive solutions, products, and services.
  • Author white papers on technology and products.

Requirements

  • BS/CS/CE technical degree required.
  • Network Industry certifications including Arista Cloud Engineer (ACE) level 4 - 7 desired.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience with a focus on Data Center, Campus, and Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Expert level experience with routing and switching including L2/L3 protocols.
  • Demonstrated work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer preferred.
  • Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS.
  • Good understanding of the competitor technology landscape, including Cisco and Juniper.
  • Expert level knowledge of industry-standard CLI.
  • Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) highly desired.
  • Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible desired.
