About the position

The Federal Tax Editor role is designed for a passionate tax professional who excels in tax advisory work. This position involves creating and maintaining high-quality federal tax content, monitoring tax developments, and collaborating with industry experts. The role aims to enhance Checkpoint's competitive edge and support tax practitioners by providing clear, actionable insights and leveraging advanced technologies in tax research and content delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain comprehensive federal tax advisory and compliance content.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on new tax developments, legislation, and IRS guidance.
  • Translate complex tax information into clear, actionable insights for tax advisors.
  • Manage relationships with industry experts and edit their contributions to ensure quality standards.
  • Collaborate on initiatives to integrate advanced technologies into tax research methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of enhanced digital experiences for customers.
  • Support cross-functional teams in sales, marketing, and customer service.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and share knowledge within the team.

Requirements

  • CPA certification and/or law degree with LL.M in Taxation.
  • Minimum of 8 years of focused experience in federal tax advisory and compliance.
  • Proven expertise in advising clients on complex tax matters across various industries.
  • Proficiency in tax research tools and demonstrated writing and editing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of successful teamwork.
