About the position
As an independent service provider for FedEx Ground, Austin SpeedX Logistics Inc. is seeking dedicated Delivery Drivers to join our team in the South Austin, TX area. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to provide outstanding delivery services while enjoying competitive pay. Our drivers can earn between $150 to $250 per day, depending on their delivery efficiency and performance, with many drivers averaging over $225 per day due to our super dense delivery area. We pride ourselves on our supportive work environment and the potential for bonus pay, which rewards drivers for exceeding delivery thresholds. The role involves delivering and picking up FedEx Ground packages, ensuring that each delivery is handled with care and professionalism. Drivers will be responsible for loading packages onto their assigned vehicles in the morning, safely navigating to delivery locations, and greeting customers in a friendly manner. The position requires problem-solving skills to address any loading or delivery issues that may arise, as well as conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle. We are looking for full-time drivers who can commit to working a minimum of 5 to 6 days a week, with schedules available primarily from Monday to Friday, and weekends as needed. This is a physically demanding job, as drivers must be able to handle packages weighing up to 60+ lbs and maintain a clear motor vehicle record. Responsibilities
- Load all packages onto assigned vehicle in the morning
- Safely and efficiently drive vehicle to delivery locations (businesses and residences)
- Greet customers in a friendly fashion (when applicable)
- Deliver packages in an appropriate drop-off area (e.g. front door), obliging customer requests and obtaining signatures when necessary
- Problem-solve loading and delivery issues, navigational discrepancies, and customer requests
- Conduct daily DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and report defects to Lead Driver or Manager
- Clean out vehicle at the end of each day
- Clean vehicle exterior quarterly
Requirements
- All Applicants MUST be 21+ years
- 1 year of job related experience is must
- Able to handle up to 60+ lbs
- Must be able to pass Background, Drug Screening and physical form
- Have a clear Motor Vehicle Record
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience at Amazon, UPS, FedEx, or DHL is a plus and preferred
