About the position
The Feed Mill Laborer at Lowville Farmers Co Op is responsible for the production and quality control of animal feed. This role involves operating mill equipment, ensuring ingredient quality, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The position requires physical strength and the ability to perform various tasks related to feed production and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize making feed based on needs
- Inspect received ingredients for quality
- Monitor product quality and production schedules
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mill equipment
- Clean in accordance with OSHA standards
- Operate the mill to blend ingredients as needed
- Monitor storage conditions to prevent spoilage or insect infestations
- Assist other employees as needed in office or warehouse
- Load customers with product
- Help keep the property clean and organized
Requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Ability to operate equipment
- Physical stamina for stooping over while bagging
