About the position

AMD is seeking a passionate software leader to design next-generation GPUs, focusing on performance modeling and AI workload co-design. This role involves leading a team of specialists to drive advanced exploration for GPU architectures and micro-architectures tailored for future workloads. The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in system architecture and performance modeling, while also effectively communicating results across AMD leadership.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of AMD's GPU Architecture and Performance Team to develop future AMD products.
• Develop and maintain new simulations for both workloads and hardware.
• Keep abreast of new workloads, particularly for AI models.
• Collaborate closely with hardware architects, system engineers, and business teams in evaluating and understanding performance characteristics.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of system architecture and hardware design.
• Experience with modeling of systems.
• Understanding of AI workloads at a detailed level.
• GPU software development and parallel programming.
• Analytical and performance analysis skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Software development in C++ and Python.
• Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills including leading and mentoring other engineers.
