About The Position

The Miami Marlins are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented individual to join their Player Development department as an Analytics Fellow. This entry-level position focuses on modern baseball analytics, translating complex data into actionable insights for coaches and players. The Fellow will support the coaching staff and players at a minor league affiliate by preparing scouting materials, assisting with player development initiatives, and participating in the Fellowship Development Program to gain experience in baseball operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in data analysis, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with R and/or Python programming languages.
• Strong understanding of modern baseball analytics and advanced metrics.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly to coaches and players.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce advance scouting materials for the affiliate.
• Facilitate the use of scouting materials in pre-game meetings and provide in-game support from the dugout.
• Conduct research and deliver insights to assist coaching staff in enhancing player growth.
• Track progress in player development plans and complete ad hoc projects as assigned.
• Apply data analysis techniques and create visualizations to transform data into actionable insights.
• Assist with on-field duties, technology integration, and data collection in collaboration with coaches.
