About the position

The Mid-Level FEMA Consultant at Serco plays a crucial role in supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance disaster recovery initiatives across Zone 2 in the Midwest. This position involves providing expertise in various disciplines to assist state, tribal, territorial, and local governments, as well as some private non-profits, in their recovery efforts following man-made and natural disasters. The role requires flexibility for deployment within Zone 2 and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a team or independent environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to state, tribal, territorial, and local governments in disaster recovery efforts.
• Deploy to various locations within Zone 2 with short notice to assist in recovery initiatives.
• Utilize expertise in specific disciplines such as engineering, environmental planning, and financial analysis to support FEMA's mission.
• Work collaboratively with professional and non-professional personnel to deliver effective assistance to affected communities.
• Maintain a sound technical knowledge base of standard concepts, principles, and techniques relevant to the discipline.

Requirements

• Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) experience or relevant experience.
• A Bachelor's degree or appropriate years of relevant experience depending on the Labor Category (LCAT).
• Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust clearance.
• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using a smartphone for work-related tasks.
• Ability to go on 6-12 month deployments as needed.
• Strong ability to work independently and under stressful conditions.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of the FEMA Public Assistance Program/Policy.
• Trained in the PA delivery model preferred.
• Active FEMA badge.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range from $62,400.00 to $197,600.00 based on experience and qualifications.
