About the position

The FEMA Disaster Recovery Accountant Mid position at SOL Engineering Services, LLC involves providing technical support for FEMA disaster-related operations across the United States. The role is essential in assisting state and local entities in developing grant applications for Federal Public Assistance Funding to repair infrastructure damaged by natural disasters. The position requires a strong background in accounting and experience with FEMA's Public Assistance program, with a focus on delivering high-quality technical solutions in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for FEMA disaster-related operations.
• Assist in developing grant applications for Federal Public Assistance Funding.
• Work collaboratively across multiple teams to meet critical deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with FEMA's requirements and standards.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation related to disaster recovery efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience or related expertise.
• Experience with FEMA's Public Assistance program is required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass an FBI background check.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to mobilize within 24-48 hours and commit to a minimum 90-day assignment.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience in roles such as Site Inspector, Program Delivery Manager, or Public Assistance Coordinator.
• Trainings completed in Program Delivery Manager training, Site Inspector training, and Public Assistance Operations.
• Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
