About the position

The FEMA Program Manager - Disaster Recovery at Acuity International is responsible for managing disaster recovery services and programs, including FEMA's Public Assistance Program and HUD's Community Development Block Grant Program. This role involves business development, client relations, and ensuring project delivery meets client expectations, often requiring deployment to disaster sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage aspects of business development and client relations, including market assessments and client identification.
• Foster new and existing client relationships within the disaster recovery industry.
• Develop business opportunities that align with Acuity's goals at a national or regional level.
• Meet assigned goals and collaborate with operational staff to deliver high-quality work products.
• Prepare proposals, project cost estimates, and client interview documents.
• Provide customer service throughout the PA grant management process.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to complete PA grants and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Lead meetings with applicants and sub-applicants, including exploratory calls and recovery scoping meetings.
• Track and follow up on FEMA's Requests for Information and documentation submissions.
• Assist clients in planning and implementing their projects in a timely manner.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with federal disaster recovery grant programs including FEMA's Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs.
• Experience with public speaking, delivering presentations, and facilitating meetings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Ability to learn Grants Manager and other FEMA systems.
