The Fence Installation Crewmember position at Southington Rustic Fence Company involves working as part of a dedicated team to install various types and styles of fencing, railing, and guardrail. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in fence installation or a related field, demonstrating a strong knowledge of materials and tools, the ability to read plans, and a keen attention to detail. The position demands the ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on, detail-oriented environment while projecting a professional image at all times. Physical demands of the job include digging, driving, lifting, raking, mixing concrete, and operating various machinery such as jackhammers and skid steers. The crewmember will also be responsible for performing inspections on trucks, trailers, and equipment, documenting and communicating any issues as necessary. The role requires tolerance of all weather conditions and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of Southington Rustic Fence and their co-workers through cooperative teamwork and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Assist with fence installation and ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately.
- Follow all safety procedures on and off the property.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Take orders from direct supervisors and show up on time ready to work.
- Work with crew members to ensure understanding of project plans and individual roles.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and document any issues.
- Ensure the work site is clean and orderly, notifying management of necessary repairs.
- Operate machinery such as skid loaders, jackhammers, and demo saws as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project specifications and any issues that arise.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Current Medical Card (to obtain within 60 days)
- OSHA 10-hour Certification Card (to obtain within 90 days)
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in the landscape construction industry
- Strong working knowledge of landscaping machinery, equipment, and tools
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, yet flexible to adjust to changing demands
