About the position

As a Spray Technician at Heroes Lawn Care Southeast Houston, you will play a crucial role in transforming ordinary lawns into extraordinary landscapes. This position involves ensuring the soil has the correct mix of nutrients while minimizing pests, thereby enhancing lawn quality. You will be part of a founding team dedicated to providing exceptional lawn care services and building a customer base in a fun and respectful work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Listen to customer needs and make appropriate recommendations on how to improve their lawn health by identifying non-beneficial insects, weeds, and diseases.
  • Conduct soil testing.
  • Ensure the safety and appropriate application of chemical products and fertilizer to enhance lawn quality.
  • Ensure the safety of job personnel, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Properly dispose of fertilizer residue and containers.
  • Sell and provide additional services such as aeration, soil amendment, and overseeding.
  • Organize equipment and products in your assigned vehicle.
  • Follow a daily schedule, ensuring timely arrival at each account (a company vehicle is provided).
  • Measure the lawn of potential customers to provide them with an accurate cost.
  • Maintain equipment and warehouse adhering to standards of cleanliness.
  • Cross-train in other departments for backup support.
  • Build a fun and hardworking environment with the rest of the team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • Able to diagnose pests and disease issues in the field.
  • Has three or more years of experience in fertilization.
  • Has a working knowledge of CRM programs.
  • Has a clean driving record and passes an internal insurance background check to drive a company vehicle.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and have the ability to keep efficient notes and records.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, and materials for lawn fertilization.
  • Proficient in product offerings.
  • Ability to follow policy and procedures.
  • Able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • TDA Commercial Pesticide Applicator License, Cat 3A, or planning to get a license.
