About the position

The Theater Operations Assistant Manager works with the Theater Operations Manager to maintain necessary communication channels, as well as successful operational and logistical execution for the Theater Operations department during the 2024 Seattle International Film Festival. Dates of Employment: Full time, March 17, 2025 - June 6, 2025. Compensation: $22/Hour. Reports to: Festival Theater Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Theater Operations Manager, coordinates good communication workflow within and on behalf of the entire Theater Operations team
  • Maintains internal communication systems such as Filemaker, Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, etc. Provides cross departmental training as needed.
  • Coordinates IT needs for all festival theaters. Works with IT Manager to test & troubleshoot equipment and deploy replacements as needed.
  • Coordinates ordering, inventory, and distribution of theater equipment boxes.
  • Coordinates festival signage creation and distribution, making signage as requested.
  • Working with Theater Managers, documents theater setups in photos and floorplans for archival use.
  • Writes and distributes show flows for programs that require them.
  • Assists with programs outside normal theater operations, such as development activations, etc.
  • Supports Theater Management, Box Office, and Volunteer scheduling & training, including creation or updating of training materials and presentations.
  • Compiles and sends out evening reports daily from Filemaker during the festival.
  • Organizes staff snacks, meals, and swag as needed.
  • Assists other constituents within Operations as needed.
  • Coordinates other departmental needs at theaters as requested.
  • Complete wrap report by scheduled date.
  • Completes staff and volunteer evaluations by scheduled due date, as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in coordinating events or festivals required.
  • 1-2 years experience in G Suite required.
  • Excellent attention to detail required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity
