About the position

The FFE & Design Project Coordinator plays a vital role in the Real Estate | Planning, Design, and Construction team at UCLA Health, ensuring that projects are completed on-time and within budget. This position focuses on managing Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE) for various healthcare facilities, contributing to the overall mission of delivering exceptional patient care, education, and research.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with space planning and FFE studies.
  • Develop interior design, finish, furniture, equipment, signage, and art selections.
  • Review proposals, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Support move planning, logistics, installation, and licensing.
  • Coordinate hand-off to UCLA Health client upon project substantial completion.
  • Independently manage smaller design and construction projects.
  • Oversee project reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in design and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data and create accurate spreadsheets, graphs, and charts for management reports.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Bluebeam is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes, UCLA standards, and accessibility regulations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with California Building Code, Title 22, and HCAI (OSHPD) requirements is preferred.
  • Ability to organize and facilitate projects.
  • Ability to interpret legal and technical documents.
  • Skill in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines despite workload changes.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software.
  • Knowledge of healthcare design standards.
