About the position

The Fiber Broadband Research Intern position at Nokia Bell Labs offers a unique opportunity for students pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. in relevant fields to engage in cutting-edge research and innovation in optical access technologies. Interns will work alongside industry experts to explore and develop solutions for next-generation communication technologies, focusing on Passive Optical Networks (PON) and related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about Passive Optical Networks (PON) and their applications in broadband access.
  • Explore innovative methods to enhance optical access networks for higher speeds.
  • Conduct research on optical experimentation, simulation of new access architectures, and digital signal processing in PONs.
  • Investigate applications of artificial intelligence and error correction schemes in telecommunications.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong drive to succeed and a positive, open mindset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated early research results through journal papers or industry recognition.
