About the position

The Field Installation Technician is responsible for providing excellent customer service while performing installations and service visits at customer locations. This role involves both physical installation of Internet equipment and technical tasks such as database updates and troubleshooting. The technician must be able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site surveys for potential customers to evaluate serviceability.
  • Diagnose customer problems at service calls and restore functional service to existing customers.
  • Install new customers with Internet service, including mounting equipment and running cables.
  • Configure routers and customer computers for Internet access.
  • Perform equipment upgrades for existing customers.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate accountability.
  • Ability to use tools for equipment installation.
  • Must be professional in dress, speech, and manner.
