About the position

The Fiber Construction Inspector position at WIVERSE (a DELACAN company) is a contract role focused on overseeing and inspecting fiber construction projects to ensure quality control and compliance with contractual obligations. The inspector will conduct daily site inspections, document construction progress, and maintain accurate records while working closely with contractors and agency personnel. This role requires a strong understanding of fiber installation processes and the ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent daily site inspections to monitor and document construction progress.
  • Prepare accurate and organized daily reports, including photos and quality control/safety standards.
  • Oversee, inspect, and monitor contractual field work including excavations, boring, and fiber cable installation.
  • Schedule work and inspection phases with contractor's superintendent and agency personnel.
  • Advise contractors of violations and recommend adjustments to operations.
  • Take field measurements to verify contractor billing and perform quality reviews of construction.
  • Maintain project records including daily diaries, materials notebooks, and as-built plans.
  • Evaluate and monitor progress schedules, prepare work orders, and monthly estimates.
  • Manage warehouse inventory, including vendor outfitting and cable inventory management.
  • Provide on-site support during major outages or sensitive network impacts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Fiber OSP & ISP.
  • High school diploma or associate's degree required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Visio, etc.).
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Google Earth and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints/construction drawings.
  • Basic understanding of web application infrastructure and front-end/database technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with fiber construction management roles such as Fiber Construction Manager, Fiber Splicer, or Fiber Engineer.
  • Knowledge of field measuring and audit verification techniques.
