About The Position

The Fiber Director at Cleveland Utilities Authority is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Fiber/Broadband project, including construction, installations, network management, and staffing. This role requires a strong background in FTTH/FTTP telecommunications and involves managing budgets, sales, customer care, and operational strategies to enhance market performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college/university (required).
• Master's degree from an accredited college/university (preferred).
• Ten years of job-related experience in the telecommunications industry with increasing responsibility.
• Successful track record in managing a FTTH/FTTP telecommunications network.
• Advanced knowledge of installation, repair, central office, and outside plant functions.
• Knowledge of OSP engineering and functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with QuickBase.
• Valid Tennessee driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of CUA Fiber/Broadband project including construction, installations, network, DIA, and staffing.
• Work with vendors, contracts, or internal resources to define scope and technical requirements.
• Manage budget and forecast for the Fiber/Broadband project.
• Oversee Commercial and Residential Sales and Customer Take-Rate, Customer Care, Technical Support, Installation and Repair, Core and Access Networks.
• Set market goals, measure performance against those goals, and develop budgets and plans to achieve them.
• Develop and execute operational strategies to improve market revenues, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor competitive activity and devise strategies to retain customers and improve market advantage.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with customers, community leaders, team members, and company leadership.
• Design and ensure the execution of practices and processes to achieve desired market results.
• Manage and resolve customer escalations to ensure premier customer satisfaction.
