Fiber Laser Operator

About the position

The Fiber Laser Operator at Metal Fab Guys is responsible for setting up and operating fiber laser cutting equipment to precisely cut and shape metal sheets and tubes. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality production standards and involves a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Set up fiber laser cutting equipment and automated material processing according to job specifications.
• Operate fiber laser cutting machines and automated material handling systems to accurately cut and shape metal sheets and tubes.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications using measuring tools.
• Utilize automated material processing centers for loading and unloading metal sheets and tubes onto the laser cutting machine.
• Perform routine maintenance on fiber laser cutting machines and automated systems.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating laser cutting and automated equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating fiber laser cutting equipment and automated material processing in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, and job orders.
• Knowledge of fiber laser cutting processes, automated systems, and materials.
• Familiarity with computer software for programming laser cutting operations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols at all times.

Nice-to-haves

• Vocational training or certification in laser cutting or a related field.
• Experience with CNC laser cutting machines and automated material handling systems.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for programming laser cutting and automated systems is a plus.
• Experience working with a variety of metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
