About the position

The Fiber Network Engineer Instructor at Cossatot Community College is responsible for developing and implementing courses focused on Fiber to the Home (FTTH) networks, routing, and switching. This role involves both classroom instruction and hands-on training, ensuring that students master the necessary skills for a career in telecommunications. The instructor will also create training aids, validate knowledge through testing, and maintain systems to track student progress.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement courses on FTTH networks, routing, and switching.
  • Perform classroom and hands-on training for students.
  • Effectively communicate training content to ensure understanding.
  • Create and maintain training aids to support learning.
  • Develop knowledge validation programs to assess learning outcomes.
  • Maintain systems to track training progress and success.
  • Coordinate training schedules for courses.
  • Promote a safety-minded environment during training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 5 years of telecommunication infrastructure experience, including design, installation, and maintenance of fiber optic systems.
  • Proficient in the use of office hardware and software (PCs, tablets, printers, copiers, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.).
  • Excellent oral presentation skills and interpersonal communication.
