About the position

The Fiber Optic Technician I is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service in various Outside Plant areas, including customer premises and fiber huts. This role involves troubleshooting fiber optic issues, digging holes, burying drops, and making necessary repairs to restore fiber services. The technician must build strong customer relationships, coordinate with subcontractors, and be available on call during specified times.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality customer service in Outside Plant areas.
  • Dig holes and bury drops as needed.
  • Troubleshoot fiber optic issues and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Determine fault locations and make necessary repairs to restore fiber services.
  • Pull fiber optic cable for repairs and install/remove equipment in fiber optic huts.
  • Update service tickets in Circet USA and/or customer ticketing system.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and participate in job site safety/hazard analysis.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft programs and applications.
  • Proficient use of IOS and/or Android applications.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
