About the position

As a Fiber Splicer at MasTec Communications Group, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining fiber optic networks in a safety-focused environment. This role emphasizes quality service and teamwork, allowing you to enhance your skills while contributing to community technology advancements.

Responsibilities

• Produce end-to-end fiber optic networks.
• Test and troubleshoot continuity of fiber optic networks.
• Operate all testing equipment and resolve common challenges in fiber optic networks.
• Prepare fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, Commscope, and Corning.
• Utilize fusion splicer and test equipment including OTDR, OLTS, and power meter.
• Apply knowledge of fiber design, documentation reading, light levels, and dB loss.
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to work on ladders or bucket trucks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to work.
• Track record of completing work with high quality standards.
• Flexibility to work various shifts with overtime.
