About the position

The Fiberglass Assembly Laborer is responsible for assembling components according to product specifications in a manufacturing environment. This role involves preparing work by studying assembly instructions, positioning parts, and ensuring quality standards are met. The position requires effective communication with supervisors and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notify supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed supplies; place and expedite orders for supplies.
  • Communicate daily with supervisor regarding potential issues.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensure safety measures are followed to protect personnel and company property.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing quality and timely results.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor and management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to identify that product meets quality and productivity standards.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Ability to focus on details to guarantee production of high quality products.
  • Ability to read and follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
  • Willing and available to work overtime to reach goals.
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
