About the position

The FICO Blaze Software Developer will leverage their experience in requirements definition and analysis to apply object-oriented programming knowledge in the development of business rules using Blaze Advisor. This role encompasses the full life-cycle of business rules development, including definition, extraction, translation, code development, testing, implementation, and ongoing change management. The developer will also troubleshoot issues using debugging and log reading skills while interacting directly with clients to translate their requirements into actionable business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Apply object-oriented programming knowledge to learn Blaze Advisor.
• Complete the full life-cycle of business rules development including rules definition, extraction, translation, code development, loading, testing, implementation, and ongoing change management.
• Utilize debugging and log reading skills to troubleshoot issues.
• Interact directly with clients to understand and translate their requirements into concrete rules.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Experience with business rules engine tools such as Blaze is required.
• Strong understanding and proven application of standard development techniques (OOP, SDLC, Agile).
• Background in Object Oriented programming (i.e. Java, C#).
• Strong SQL background, specifically with stored procedures.
• Ability to read system logs.
• Curiosity and perseverance for debugging.
• Ability to translate client requirements into business solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer-focused attitude and desire to interface directly with end-user clients.
• Professional demeanor.
