About the position

The Field Application Engineer in the APS Division at Parker Hannifin Corporation will provide direct support to the Tesla Gigafactory in Reno, NV, focusing on the application of Parker Lord chemical adhesives, coatings, and materials. This role involves significant collaboration with Tesla and Parker Lord staff, offering mechanical and chemical technical services, and requires independence and strong communication skills due to its field nature. The position includes after-hours customer support and initial training at various Parker Lord sites and Tesla locations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Tesla Gigafactory in Reno, NV with Parker Lord products.
• Provide mechanical technical service on application equipment.
• Provide chemical technical service on Parker Lord products.
• Collaborate daily with customer engineering, operators, and staff.
• Troubleshoot meter-mix-dispensing equipment and other related equipment.
• Perform routine and non-routine technical service in a customer manufacturing environment.
• Oversee equipment, Parker Lord product application, and inventory.
• Communicate findings effectively through verbal and written reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar field.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant or chemical lab environment with customer interaction.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to operate safely in a chemical laboratory.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to apply basic statistics and interpret results.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
