About the position

As a Field Application Engineer at BlackBerry QNX, you will serve as a technical account owner, directly engaging with customers to promote the adoption of QNX software and services. This role involves both pre-sales and post-sales responsibilities, acting as a key technical resource within the North American Sales team. You will manage customer technical relationships, provide design advice, and represent QNX at various events, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between customers and QNX R&D, Engineering Services, and Product Management departments.
  • Provide technical expertise and knowledge of QNX solutions to customers and prospects in both pre-sale and post-sale capacities.
  • Support the sales team in a technical and consultative manner, including analyzing customer design requirements and offering feasibility assessments.
  • Manage customer technical requirements from development to commercial release.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customer technical staff to encourage new development projects and upgrades.
  • Deliver pre-sales software development work, including demos and initial environment setup.
  • Prepare and present technical material to customers, both on-site and virtually, and represent BlackBerry QNX at trade shows and webinars.
  • Develop and maintain a technical knowledge base of competitive intelligence and provide recommendations to improve customer experience.

Requirements

  • Experience interfacing between customers and engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated software development, design, and architecture experience focused on embedded system development and real-time programming with C, Assembly, or C++.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in Linux development environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in the Industrial or Medical segment vertical market is preferred.
  • Technical experience with RTOS solutions from providers like Wind River or Green Hills is an asset.
  • Broad knowledge of the high-tech and embedded industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of current marketing concepts and practices.
