About the position

As a Field Application Engineer (Mandarin Speaker) at Group14 Technologies, you will serve as a crucial link between research and development, product development, customers, and the business development team. Your primary goal will be to generate technical solutions and effectively communicate them to customers, ensuring the successful integration of silicon-carbon composite active materials into next-generation battery technology. This role requires a deep understanding of lithium-ion batteries and involves daily interactions with internal stakeholders and customers, necessitating excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary product expert and support person for silicon-based materials for Li-ion batteries.
• Provide expert analysis and support to customers, enabling the integration of silicon-carbon composite materials into battery technology.
• Manage product evaluations and support customer development and implementation phases in lithium-ion battery systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, R&D, quality, operations, and business teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Support sales and marketing activities related to Group14's products.

Requirements

• M.S. or PhD in Material Science and Engineering, Electrochemistry, Battery Science, or equivalent experience.
• Business and technical proficiency in speaking Mandarin.
• Knowledge of energy storage devices and their components.
• Experience in troubleshooting Li-ion battery failure modes.
• Understanding of lithium-ion battery electrochemical test methods and analysis.
• Ability to present results and make technical recommendations clearly to customers and management.
• 3+ years of sales and customer support experience.
• Experience integrating new products into complex chemical systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environment.
