About the position

As a Customer Solutions Engineer at Johnson Electric, you will play a pivotal role in developing new products and markets while supporting existing business operations. Your expertise in mechanical or electrical engineering will be essential in driving innovation and ensuring customer satisfaction through technical solutions and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and objectives as they relate to JE products.
  • Provide technical expertise and solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Create and submit formal lists of requirements to regional design teams based on customer project needs.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers to maximize product value.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, providing timely solutions to customers.
  • Gather feedback from customers, analyze trends, and recommend product enhancements or modifications.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales and product development, to advocate for the best solutions and drive new product innovation.
  • Participate in technical project reviews with internal CFT and customers covering testing overview, development of DVP&R, FMEA's, and launch timing.
  • Develop cost models of competitor products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Edge preferred) and basic electronics.
  • Experience in running FEA software is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with some customer-facing experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
  • Familiarity/experience with motors, motor controls, and motion systems is a plus.
  • Courage to advocate for the best solutions, even in the face of challenges.
  • Capacity for new product development, with a focus on continuous learning and improvement.

  • Advanced degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experience with motors, motor controls, and motion systems, specifically commercial grade motors.
