In this role, you will be responsible for design and manufacturing functions required by key strategic business unit account customers. You will work closely with sales and manufacturing teams to achieve customer design targets and goals. The position supports the Southeast region, with a preference for candidates located in Florida through Virginia. Responsibilities

  • Work with OEM engineers, Manufacturer's Representatives, Distribution Partners, and Territory Sales Managers to implement Laird solutions for existing and next-generation programs.
  • Attend customer meetings to provide technical design support and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Utilize product and material offerings to provide detailed design solutions.
  • Present design solutions to customers using modeling and simulation.
  • Drive customer interactions, prototypes, and initial production builds to meet stakeholder timelines.
  • Originate and release final production documentation with critical dimensions and tolerances.
  • Manage and direct projects through a product development design team across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Coordinate activities between departments to meet product development requirements.
  • Set priorities and direction for multiple concurrent programs in development.
  • Keep work skills current to ensure competitiveness in a dynamic global business environment.
  • Adhere to quality and safety systems, maintaining standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with solid-modeling software, preferably CREO or Solidworks, and/or mechanical/electrical or multiphysics software such as Abaqus, HFSS, or COMSOL.
  • Understanding of Finite Element Analysis or Finite Difference numerical modeling techniques, with experience analyzing boundary value problems.
  • Knowledge of cross-functional relationships between intercompany groups and expertise required for product development.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience as an extension of OEM design teams from system to component level.
  • Some combination of thermal, electromagnetic, mechanical, and electrical design experience.
  • Understanding of electronic system architecture at least at the block diagram level.
  • Experience engaging customers, organizing intercompany meetings, and maintaining business relationships.
